I won’t lie, before this the only Lebanese food I had tried was Shawarma, lol. So when I decided to bring back the City Guide series (yay!) I decided to try out something different… Cedars, an authentic Lebanese restaurant found in Nakasero, Kampala, I was super excited because I love to try out new things, especially when it comes to food. Cedars is one of those laid back garden spaces where you can enjoy your food in a rather private and relaxed way with friends or family. It has an outdoor garden space, and an indoor space as well all in a relaxed homey environment…literally, as the space used was converted from home and hasn’t been changed much from the original house. I went with two friends and my absolute favorite thing about the place was the fact that you can share platters of different foods which makes sense price wise and also the fact that you get a little of everything is nice. Chef Hamdoun dished out a mixture of familiar food like chicken wings and pizza, and ofcourse a lot of Lebanese food I tried for the first time like falafel and baklava sweets. In my opinion I think Lebanese food is not too different and not that hard to get used to, they were a couple of dishes I found similar to food I was accustomed to, so even if you are not too adventurous it’s still a great place to go for dinner, or even a casual lunch. Also as with most Lebanese places, there is shisha if you want it, so it really makes it a perfect option for a space to eat, chill, and try something different.
Thanks so much for stopping by, don’t forget to stop by Cedars and tell me what you think of the place.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
